iPhone iOS 6 JailBreak

HOW TO JAILBREAK IOS 6 AND INSTALL CYDIA

iOS 6 was just released a while ago, and now we’re going to show you how to jailbreak it.
First of all, please note that this is a tethered jailbreak, and it only works with A4 devices like the iPhone 4.
Secondly, since there currently isn’t any jailbreak tool that will install Cydia just yet, we’re going to have to go about installing Cydia using a manual process.
Still game after all of those asterisks? Then come inside, as we show you how to jailbreak iOS 6 final…

Step 1: Install iOS 6 on your device. You’ll also need to know the location of the iOS 6 IPSW firmware file. If you’re on a Mac, you can find that in /Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/ if you didn’t download iOS 6 manually, and updated using iTunes. You can also download iOS 6 from our downloads page. After iOS 6 is installed, hook your device up to your computer, and place it into DFU mode.
Step 2: Download RedSn0w 0.9.13dev4 from our downloads page.
Step 3: Run RedSn0w, and click Extras > Select IPSW, then select your iOS 6 firmware file. It should successfully identify your firmware.
Step 4: Click Back, and then click Jailbreak. You should see a dialogue box saying “preparing jailbreak data” followed by a page with several options. Ensure that Install SSH is selected, and click Next.
Step 5: Your iPhone will now proceed through the jailbreak process. You will receive a message acknowledging that this is a tethered jailbreak.
Step 6: Once the jailbreak is completed, and you are back on your Lock screen, place the device back info DFU mode.
Step 7: Click Back, and then click Just boot. A pineapple logo should appear on your device, indicating a tethered boot. Once this complete’s and you are back on your Lock screen, you may close RedSn0w.

INSTALLING CYDIA

Step 1: On your iOS device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > and click the arrow next to your connected Wi-Fi router. Find your IP address for your Wi-Fi connection. In my example, my IP is 10.0.1.27.
Step 2: On a computer connected to the same Wi-Fi network, open the Terminal app.
Step 3: In terminal type: ssh root@10.0.1.27 (be sure to change the IP address to match your iOS device’s IP)
Step 4: After a few seconds, it should connect, and prompt you for your iOS device’s password. The password is alpine
Step 5: Once connected, paste the following into the terminal:
wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://downloads.kr1sis.net/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh
Step 6: After a minute or so of scrolling prompts, your iOS device should reboot, and Cydia will be installed. If you get any permission errors on the terminal, just ignore them.
That’s it. You now have a jailbroken iOS 6 device running Cydia. That wasn’t so hard, was it?
Thanks to kr1sis.net for the Cydia install script.

Redsnow Jailbreak Works With iOS 6 — But Not iPhone 5

First, the bad things. This is a tethered jailbreak, and will only work with A4 devices: the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch 4th generation. It doesn’t yet work with the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, the third generation iPad, or any other new iOS device.
The new version of Redsn0w has some nice new features: Cydia is now built in, you can restore from any version of iOS 5 to any other version of iOS 5 (but not downgrade from iOS 6 to iOS 5), and it can automatically download the iOS 6 IPSW.

Samsung Chromebook Series 3 (XE303C12)

Samsung Chromebook Series 3 (XE303C12)

  • PROS
Unbeatable price. Slim and light. ARM processor provides zippy performance without sacrificing battery life. Physical keyboard and clamshell design.
  • CONSOffline access and storage is still limited. Keyboard comes with a learning curve.
BOTTOM LINE
The Samsung Chromebook Series 3 laptop delivers—a cheap, portable way to get online.

The Samsung Chromebook Series 3 (XE303C12) may be the Chromebook that really takes off. With a price low enough to entice the curious and the parts needed to zip through Web browsing, the new Chromebook is what we've wanted Google to deliver all along, an affordable and portable way to hop online. Earlier models have cost upwards of $400, leaving a lot of users feeling ripped off at the limitations of Chrome OS. At $250 for the Wi-Fi connected model, the price is right, and the new Chromebook is even cheaper than  Editors' Choice Budget Laptop, the Acer Aspire 5349-2635 . It's also a good deal cheaper than both the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook 550 (XE550C22-H01) $549.99 at Amazon and the Samsung Chromebook Series 5 , making this the closest any Chromebook has come to meeting Google's initial goal of selling the Chromebook for $200.

Google releases 11.6-inch, $199 Chromebook from Acer

The Acer C7 Chromebook.

The Chromebook family of devices welcomed its cheapest member yet into the fold today when Google announced an 11.6-inch netbook from Acer for $199.
The Acer C7 Chromebook joins the Samsung Chromebook and Samsung Chromebook 550 in the current lineup of computers running Google's cloud-based Chrome operating system.
The latest model boasts an Intel processor, full-size keyboard, and clickable trackpad. It has a 320GB hard drive and 100GB of additional storage, free for two years, on Google drive. The C7 boots in 18 seconds and gets 3.5 hours of battery life, Google says.
There are trade-offs involved with the low price, though. The C7 gets three hours less battery life than the Samsung Chromebooks, which start at just $50 more. It's also thicker, boots slower, and lacks the 3G capabilities of the Samsung 550.
Still, at $199, the C7 could prove tempting this holiday season for consumers who do most of their computing online. Google is marketing the device as easier to share than conventional laptops, since users log in with their Google accounts and will see only their own files when they do.
The C7 goes on sale tomorrow in the U.S. on the Google Play store, at BestBuy.com, and in some Best Buy stores. In the United Kingdom, shoppers can find it at Google Play, Amazon UK, PC World, and Currys. It will be coming to more countries "soon," Google said.

MacBook Air VBs MacBook Pro

Comparing MacBook Air vs. MacBook Pro (Retina Display)Performance or portability? Cost or capability? These are the tough decisions facing anyone buying a laptop; but these issues are thrown into sharp relief when you're browsing at an Apple store. MacBook lineup is book-ended by two stunning examples of systems that redraw the boundaries constraining laptops. MacBook Air 13-inch redefined portable computing, simultaneously killing off the netbook &spawning the ultrabook. Adding a Retina display to the MacBook Pro 15-inch pushed the laptop from all-around performer to the pinnacle of premium laptops for video and graphics professionals.
Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display)
At first glance, the MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display) looks a lot like the regular MacBook Pro. It's a little bit thinner, and a little bit lighter, but it's clearly part of the same family. The real difference becomes apparent when the laptop is turned on, and you get a first look at the stunning Retina Display.
With a 2,880-by-1,800 resolution screen, the MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display) is perfect for media professionals and prosumers, with such smooth edges and tiny pixels that it's easy to forget that there are pixels at all. High-resolution photos and videos can now be seen at full resolution, even as you edit. Apple's video editing software now allows video editing—on the fly editing, with toolbars and palettes galore—while still running at 1080p in the corner preview window. It's also a great system for work, games, and anything else that needs processing power, thanks to a beefy quad-core Intel Core i7-3615QM processor (2.3GHz) and Nvidia GeForce GT 650M discrete graphics.
The MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display) is also outfitted with two Thunderbolt ports—which do double duty for both high-speed data and Mini DisplayPort for monitors—along with two USB 3.0 ports, full-size HDMI output, and an SDXC card slot. The addition of "Extreme Capacity" (the XC in SDXC) is also important for anyone working with the highest resolution images and video. And, in our anecdotal testing, we found Apple's claims of 7-hour battery life to be right on the money.
So why wouldn't you get the MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display)? Two reasons: Portability and price. While thinner and lighter than the standard MacBook Pro 15-inch, 4.46 pounds is still heavier than most people want to carry every day, and it's still too heavy and unwieldy for the go-anywhere convenience that some users demand. And at $2,199 for the starting configuration, the MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display) ain't cheap.
MacBook Air vs. MacBook Pro (Retina Display)

Apple MacBook Air 13-inch
The MacBook Air 13-inch (Mid 2012), on the other hand, is for anyone who wants to pick and go at a moment's notice. It's the laptop that kicked off the new ultrabook category, and the mix of productive power and portability is hard to ignore. The MacBook Air 13-inch weighs a mere 2.85 pounds and is only 0.68 inch thick, significantly lighter and thinner than the MacBook pro 15-inch (Retina Display). It's light enough to carry underarm like a book, and slim enough to slip into a bag without a second thought.
It's also usable on the go. Unlike a larger desktop replacement laptop, the MacBook Air 13-inch is convenient enough to pull out and open up at a moment's notice, and pick up and carry from room to room. And with 7-hours of usable battery life and 30-days of standby time, you don't need to shut it down, just close the lid—thanks to flash memory, the Air is awake and running in two seconds. It's also pretty versatile, thanks to two USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt data and monitor port, and a regular SD card slot. The 13-inch display has decent 1,440-by-900 resolution, so your web browsing and Netflix use won't be compromised.
Thanks to an Intel Core i5-3427U processor (1.8GHz), you'll also find that for the average user, the Air has the processing chops for all of your day to day activities. It's a full-blown laptop—unlike the dinky netbooks from a few years ago—in a truly mobile form-factor. For anyone who wants true portability and unhindered productive capability, the MacBook Air is the best Apple has to offer.
Finally, the MacBook Air 13-inch beats the price of the Retina-equipped MacBook Pro by a grand. Unless you need the unbridled graphics and display of the Retina laptop, the slim and portable Air is definitely the way to go.

Google Nexus 10 vs Apple iPad 4 Tablet comparision

Google Nexus 10 vs iPad 4 tablet comparison review
The latest challenger to Apple's iPad has arrived in the form of Google's Nexus 10, made by Samsung.
Unlike the Nexus 7, Nexus 10 is a direct competitor with the iPad and deserves one of our comparison reviews.

Google Nexus 10 vs Apple iPad 4: Dimensions

The two tablets are similar in their weights and measurements. The Nexus 10 is 178 x 264mm compared to 186 x 241mm; however it is thinner at 8.9mm against 9.4mm.
If weight is important to you, and it probably is, the Nexus 10 is the lighter tablet. It weighs 603g while the iPad tips the scales at 652g.

Google Nexus 10 vs Apple iPad 4: Screen

Both these tablets offer large screens. The iPad's still the classic Apple 9.7in but the Nexus 10's is marginally bigger at 10.1in. Since its third generation, the iPad uses a 2048 x 1536 Retina quality resolution. However Google has trumped this with 2560 x 1600.
When you crunch the numbers the iPad's display is impressively detailed with a pixel density of 264ppi. The Nexus 10 beats the Retina quality, though, with a whopping 300ppi
.

Google Nexus 10 vs Apple iPad 4:  Processor and memory

With high res displays, the processor is an important element here. The iPad 4 has an Apple A6X dual-core processor with quad-core graphics. Our benchmarking app tells us that it's clocked at 1.39GHz and the test results were impressive so check out our review for more details.
Google has gone for a similar setup with an ARM Cortex A-15 1.7GHz dual-core processor and a Mali T604 GPU (up to quad-core). We haven't had the Nexus 10 in yet but look out for our review for benchmarks.
On the memory side of things the Nexus 10 has twice that of the iPad 4 at 2GB.

Google Nexus 10 vs Apple iPad 4: Storage

Sticking with tradition, the fourth generation iPad comes in three storage capacities: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB with no expansion available via a card slot. Google has opted for just 16GB and 32GB models, also without a microSD card slot.
Apple iPad 4 camera

Google Nexus 10 vs Apple iPad 4: Cameras

On the photography side of things the Nexus 10 and iPad 4 have a similar setup. Both have a 5Mp rear facing camera and front facing webcams. The Nexus 10 has a slightly higher rating for the front facing camera at 1.9Mp compare to 1.2Mp.

Google Nexus 10 vs Apple iPad 4: Connectivity

Connectivity on the Nexus 10 consists of 802.11b/g/n dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, near-field communications (NFC). Physical ports consist of microUSB, Micro-HDMI, 3.5mm headphone jack and a magnetic 'Pogo' pin charger.
Apple has fitted the iPad with 802.11a/b/g/n dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. Physical ports consist of the usual 3.5mm headphone jack and Apple's Lightning connector.
A big difference is that the iPad comes in a Wi-Fi + Cellular data model which supports 4G LTE connectivity in the UK.
Google Nexus 10 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Google Nexus 10 vs Apple iPad 4: Software

Software is an area where these tablets distinctly vary. The iPad runs on Apple's own iOS and the Nexus 10 tablet runs Google's latest version of Android, 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Google Nexus 10 vs Apple iPad 4: Battery

The iPad 4 has a 42.5Wh rated battery compared to 33.3Wh on the Nexus 10. Apple promises the usual 10 hour battery life when browsing the web over Wi-Fi. Although Google hasn't specified a battery life, The Telegraph  reports a slightly lower figure of nine hours.

Samsung Galaxy S III takes No.1 position in smartphone market - research

Samsung's Galaxy S3 overtook Apple's iPhone 4S in the third quarter to give the South Korean firm the world's best-selling smartphone model for the first time ever, a research firm said Thursday.
The survey from Strategy Analytics came, however, as Apple was launching the iPhone 5. Sales from both the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 combined were higher than those of the flagship Samsung smartphone.
"The Galaxy S3 captured an impressive 11 percent share of all smartphones shipped globally and it has become the world's best-selling smartphone model for the first time ever," said Strategy Analytics' Neil Shah.
"A large touchscreen design, extensive distribution across dozens of countries, and generous operator subsidies have been among the main causes of the Galaxy S3's success."
Still, Shah acknowledged that "consumers temporarily held off purchases in anticipation of a widely expected iPhone 5 upgrade at the end of the quarter."
According to the research firm, some 18 million Galaxy S3 phones were sold in the three months to September 30.
Apple sold 16.2 million of its iPhone 4S in the period and six million of the iPhone 5, which launched in mid-September, it said.
The sales gave the Samsung device a 10.7 percent market share to 9.7 percent for the iPhone 4S and 3.6 percent for the iPhone 5.
Neil Mawston, executive director at Strategy Analytics said the Galaxy S3 "has proven wildly popular with consumers and operators across North America, Europe and Asia" but that its position as the world's best-selling smartphone model "is likely to be short-lived."
He added that with the iPhone 5, "Apple should soon reclaim the title of the world's most popular smartphone model."

5 Top Windows 8 Features You’ll Love

1. Speedy Boot Time

The load and boot up speed has improved significantly over Windows’ predecessors. This is partly due to the better resource allocations to applications and the system. When compared to Windows 7 desktop CPU, Windows 8 has an even speedier boot time.

2. Innovative & Dynamic Desktop

The tiles-based interface, or the Metro UI, will be the first thing you see upon logging in to Windows 8. At first glance, the UI seems to go intuitively with touchscreen devices like tablets and smartphones. Indeed, in such devices, you tap on those apps to open them. The grid layout seems to facilitate such interactions. Needless to say, you can customize your grid by adding and arranging applications.

3. Improved Search Function

8 has no search box at the bottom of the Start menu. Heck, it doesn’t even have the trademark Start menu! That doesn’t mean that there’s no convenient search function available. All you need to do is to type anything, and a search box will appear from the right and give you the results. The search capability is even stronger this time, displaying all the matching apps and files instantaneously.

4. Windows To Go

Of the entire list here, this is one feature that offers the most convenience to users. Windows To Go allows users to make a copy of their OS complete with their settings, wallpapers, files and even apps, into a USB thumb drive. Plugged it into another computer with Windows 8 already installed, and you can boot up the PC and make it look exactly alike the OS you normally use, with all settings intact.

5. Windows Live Syncing

Similar to Windows To Go, the new Windows 8 will provide Windows Live syncing, such that users can login on any Windows 8 PC with ‘Live ID’ and get back their own personalized settings on it. The desktop will look the same every time the user login on a PC with their Windows Live account.Migrating to a new PC is probably made easier when the user has all the essential settings synced.
